Backup Care

Balancing work and family priorities can be challenging and sometimes you need care in a pinch. Fortunately, you have a benefit that enables you to find backup care when regular care isn't available. Our experienced team helps you find fill-in care fast. Our backup care programs are vetted so you can rest easy knowing that your family is in good hands. Alternatively, you can also utilize this benefit via Personal Network by using a care provider from your own personal network and get reimbursed.

Personal Network enables you to use a caregiver or nursery/center of your choice and be reimbursed a portion of your cost that exceeds your copay. You are fully responsible for all vetting of the care provider and must arrange the details including timing, insurance, duties, and payment, etc. directly with the provider. On the date of care, you will pay your provider directly and then submit a reimbursement claim within 30 days of when the care took place. When approved, your Backup Care day will be deducted from your annual allotment and you will be reimbursed within 4-6 weeks.

Costs

  • £3.16/hour for in-home backup care
  • £7.81/day per child for in-center backup care
  • £98.69 maximum daily allowance for children/adults
  • £7.81/day for pet backup care
  • £59.20 maximum daily allowance for pet backup care
  • Each job/day has a 4-hour min. and 10-hour max.
  • 10 days allowed per contract year

Backup Care Cancellation Policy

A $30 cancellation fee will be assessed to the Eligible Individual if a Backup Care request is cancelled within forty-eight (48) business hours of the backup care reservation start time and a backup care provider already had been reserved to fulfill the backup care request. Additionally, if the cancellation occurs within twenty-four (24) hours of the backup care reservation start time, one (1) day also will be deducted from the Eligible Individual's maximum number of Backup Care Service Days.
